Roberto Zaldivar
Specialist in cataract and refractive surgery, president of the Zaldivar Institute in Mendoza, Argentina, founder and first president of the Argentine Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Cornea (SACRyC). Member of numerous prestigious Ophthalmology Societies around the world.
He coined the term “Bioptics” and introduced excimer laser technology in Latin America. He has been developing surgical techniques for phakic intraocular lenses since 1987, for the most prestigious and important intraocular lens companies in the world, moving to ICL in 1993, which he currently uses in his daily practice. He placed the first ICL in the world 09/22/1993.
